“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”-Revelation 3:15,16
These two verses lets us know that there is no lukewarmness in serving God! Either we are hot on fire for God, or we are cold and nonchalant toward serving Him. There is no in between. Choosing to follow Jesus is a personal decision and one that requires passionate commitment, dedication and zeal.
So then in terms of Modesty where do we stand? Are we on the fence or have we wholeheartedly surrendered all at the cross and our desire now is “Lord let thine will be done in my life?” Our hearts become divided when we are running after the fashions of the world and at the same time trying to serve God. The Lord deserves our undivided attention.
Remember that there only two ways: NARROW which leads to life everlasting but requires STRICT adherence to God’s statutes, and BROAD on which you may dress any how, put on how ever many jewelries, paint your face all the colors of the rainbow – you may essentially do all you want on this path! It is indeed a path of freedom; but, the question is are you willing to bear it’s eternal consequences? Hmm, think about it!
Many refute modesty and the outward appearance of a Christian. But it is rather a serious matter. It is so serious that God says “I will spue thee out of my mouth.” When someone spits something out of their mouth very rarely will they put what they spat away back into their mouth. In other words God is saying because of your non-compliance to my command, you will have no place in my Kingdom. Do you really want to sped out of God’s mouth due to disobedience to His command because of your selfish desires?
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”-Matthew 7:21-23
Don’t let your hard work be in vain and be sped out of God’s mouth because of trousers, artificial hair, nail and face painting!
May the Lord have mercy on us in Jesus’ name!
Have a blessed day
